Car parks in the city centre

Digital signs display available parkingWe are fortunate to have an ample supply of parking facilities serving Inverness city centre at much lower prices than would be paid in other cities in the UK.  Daily charges start from as little as £2.50.  Digital signs on the city approaches display the current spaces available in the 3 main car parks to guide visitors.

Old Town Rose Street Car ParkThe Old Town Rose Street multi-storey car park is situated near the Bus Station and is run by The Highland Council.  It is just 3 minutes or 410 steps from the Post Office in Queensgate. It has 900 spaces available and a variety of parking options - short stay (for shoppers), daily parking (for workers), long stay (for secure parking when on holiday or an extended business trip) and annual contract parking (for regular users working out at as little as £1.22 per day).  A special discounted charge of 20p for 2 hours is available on parking levels 7,8,9 and 10 while parking is suspended in the city centre due to the Streetscape works. No other car park in Inverness offers 24 hour parking with attendants on hand from 0600 to 2300hrs.  There are CCTV cameras throughout the car park which was recently awarded the Park Mark recognising its safe and clean status.  It has been extensively renovated with a new safer entrance, improved lighting and refurbishment of internal surfaces.  Renovation of the remaining floors is due to commence next year.

Inverness City Centre Management took over the Rose Street City Centre car park from September 2005 when the Safeway supermarket closed and operated until their lease ended on Friday 1st June 2007.  Upland Development are the new owners of the site, and will continue to run the car park on a week to week basis until re-development work starts on site.  The car park remains open Monday to Saturday 8am – 6pm.  Current charges are £1 for the first two hours, and competitive rates thereafter.  It takes under 4 minutes and it's just 473 steps from this car park to the middle of Church Street making it a very convenient way of nipping into the city centre.
